Day 101: Alpha Thrift Win

Pea coats are just straight ballin'. I had one but it got all haggard so I needed a new one especially for the Tahoe trip. Alpha Thrift usually has a bunch of shit but I came up on this puppy. Only $60 when a new one is like $200 plus. Fuck yes.

Day 100: Next Season

Such a shame that such a shitty thing happened on such a momentous day for the blog...

Day 99: The Return of the Dining Commons

Remember a time where the dankest food was available at pretty much anytime of the day? A place where dishes never had to be washed (by you)? A time where you could get as high as possible just so you could stuff your face with absolute deliciousness? Thats right I'm talking about the dining commons. I was lucky enough to go to the commons today and I ate EVERYTHING.

I had a bagel with cream chess, a slice of olive pizza, a waffle with syrup, a tuna sandwhich, eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, some fucking banana bread or something, and a glass of OJ and Cranberry.

It had been four years. Give me a break.

Day 98: BWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH (Inception sound)

Tonight we saw Inception in the Pollock Theatre but this wasn't any screening. We saw it on a 4k projector with a Meyer sound system.

For all you normal people who don't know what a 4k projector is, let me break it down for you. Your TV's highest resolution is 1080 or 1k. Your average movie theatre projector is a 2k. so the 4k is twice as good as any theatre projection you have ever seen. I thought there were only a handful of these in the US but I guess there are like 800. But this along with the Meyer sound system makes it ridiculous.

The Meyer Surround Sound is like 18 speakers that can literally make you shit yourself (trust me). Apparently   the combination of the 4k and the Meyer system has only been done in two places: UCSB Pollock Theatre and some theatre in Madrid. So be fucking jealous.

In the theatre there are some rooms for guests and performers and shit but since I T.A.in the theatre I can sneak in pretty easily.

Day 97: "Everyday I Have the Blues" - B.B. King

The blues are by far my favorite style of music. There is just nothing that comes close to hearing some 300 pound black guy wail away about why his woman left him. I'm not saying I like the genre because its sad, but because it is just so raw. When you are in middle school and most of your favorite musicians have been dead for 20 years, its hard to find people to come to blues concerts with you. Thankfully, I got to see two legends.

Buddy Guy came into town right after his good friend, Wilson Pickett (Mustang Sally) had recently died. My friend Spasian came with me and we had the time of our lives as we got there hours early so we could stand front row. The whole time Art was sneaking us middle schoolers straight Jack Daniels. It was awesome.

The House of Blues was also blessed by one of my favorite artists, the legendary B.B. King. Tickets were like $80 a pop but I would have paid $300. Shane came with me on this one. While he was really old and just sat in a chair the whole time, B.B. was bluer than ever as he rained down upon us 85 years of emotion. One of the most historically satisfying concerts of my life.

But I digress. Today's picture is of the Blues Brothers mug I bought from the House of Blues in Anaheim: it broke today. I'm just glad I was the one to break it. The second it broke I got the blues BAD but then i realized the humor the situation. It had broken on the Blues Brothers Hat Ashtray I had bought the same night.

Day 96: Canon 5D Mark ii

I got a little carried away and decided I am going to sell my soul for a Canon 5D Mark ii. Its basically the best independent camera on the market for people who can't afford $35,000 cameras. In order to pay for it I am going to have to sell a bunch of stuff. Right now I have only tried to sell my midi keyboard. This puppy was used by Christian to make the Eres Tu soundtrack and let me tell you it works. If you want to buy it, hit me up.

It will be mine. Oh yes...it will be mine.

Day 95: Winter IM Promo

Ryan and I made a promo for Rec Sports' Winter IM signups a while back and he finished editing it yesterday. After shooting it, we knew some continuity issues would come up but after seeing what Ryan did with the editing I am pretty stoked on it.

Nice sunset too from the top floor of SSMS
