Day 256: Nina Hartley and Ernest Greene

In the porn class today, our guests were Ernest Greene, a porn director, and his swinger wife, Nina Hartley, world famous porn star. I was mostly interested in seeing Nina Hartley as our parents generation (mostly Dads) jacked off to her many many many times but when Ernest Greene started talking, he was hilarious and educational.

Day 255: 16mm Editing

Now that we are done shooting Elixir, it is time to edit. The original cut was 10:38 but we had to get it down to 7 minutes for Reel Loud. This was extremely difficult but after days of trying, we (mainly Allison) figured it out.

Since it was shot on 16mm, we can't really edit it on a computer. Sure we projected the footage onto a wall, recorded it, and then edited that on a computer. But now we have to go literally cut (splice) the film, tape the pieces together, and hole punch them. This process takes days but is one of the most rewarding and educating experiences a film student can have.

Day 254: Ballin'

After living like a peasant these past few weeks, we finally got our kickstarter money for Elixir. Now I can stop eating bread and water.

Day 253: Merry America

At first I wasn't down with the Christmas lights on my American flag because NOTHING should touch the flag including the ground. But now I realize that at night, it is illegal to fly an American flag unless there is a light shining on it. God Bless America.

Day 252: Title Credits II

After failing the other day, today I actually shot the title credits. It took hours to set up the lighting...not.

Day 251:/MAL

I had a job interview in L.A. today at my sister's company /MAL. She said I couldn't take a picture of where she worked as they have a bunch of secrets there. So I took a picture of my lens cap.

Day 250: Title Cards

I was going to shoot the title credits today but there was some miscommunication between Keith and myself so this is the only title card shooting that I could do.
