Day 56: Poppin' Pollock's Cherry with Tom Pollock

You don't get much more respect than Tom Pollock. In a class that I T.A. (Film and Media 54: Hollywood Industry) we have guests come every week and talk about their career in the entertainment industry. Tonight's guest was Tom Pollock. The funny thing is we had the class in the new Pollock Theatre that just got finished (he "donated" it) and we were officially the first class ever in the theatre.

Tom Pollock was the Chairman for MCA/Universal. For all you non-film people out there, thats a pretty fucking big deal. He made over 200 feature films that grossed over a total of $10 Billion Dollars including Jurassic Park (the highest grossing film of all time at that moment) and Schindler's List (which won a shit ton of Academy Awards including Best Picture). I actually worked at his production company, The Montecito Picture Company, last summer and had the opportunity to personally thank him tonight for that experience (I was the only student he called on motha fuckas!)

I would have taken my camera into the class but we aren't aloud to film anything and I still don't have a camera, only the one built into my camcorder, so heres a shitty phone picture.

This guy got to work with MARTIN SCORSESE, Ron Howard, Ivan Reitman, Brian Grazer, Steven Spielberg, Spike Lee, and James Cameron.
