Day 295: Bloody Kicks

I got a new pair of vans the other day. Mom convinced me to buy those keds socks even though they are terrible. The only two sizes they had was "children" and 6-12 inch. How convenient.

Like they always do, the back slid down the my heel and the back of the shoe chaffed my Achilles. Today as I was getting wet on Kyle at basketball, the scab opened up and I menstruated into my sock.

Day 294: I Fought The Law and I Won

About 20 days ago I got this ticket for having expired tags on the meat wagon. I have tried to pay over and over again but apparently officer Nielsen of the Santa Barbara County Sberiff's Department is an incompetent piece of shit because she didn't enter the ticket into the website or phone service. I love how stupid cops are.

Day 293: Suds

Mom and Art threw a graduation party/coming home party for me last night. They made this huge poster that everyone tagged. Corey's was the best. Way to keep it family friendly.

Day 292: JFA

My uncle Don is the guitarist for a band called Jodie Foster's Army aka JFA. If you are a fan of punk rock you are probably familiar with the band as they have been on the scene for the past 30 years. At one point, The Beastie Boys opened for them in New York City in the '80's. Its strange that my uncle, who works for Boeing and is a pretty clean cut guy is in one of the most underground punk band of all time.

I went to a show of theirs tonight that was at Alex's bar in Long Beach. It is also the same bar that is used in True Blood.

There's uncle Don getting ready to shred it up.

Brian, the lead singer and pianist.

Gary, the bassist.

Caught Aunt Perrie by surprise.

This was the best picture I took all night. It was hard because I had to be so close that I was in the pit and was constantly in fear of getting hit in the face or trampled but somehow I got this.

The kid in the middle drove all the way up from Mexico City to see them play.

It was weird seeing all these punk rockers in their 40's and 50's come out in their leather jackets and patch filled vests, but that's awesome they still feel rebellious against society.

Day 291: Worst Grade Ever

I got the first/last D in my entire school career. It was actually a challenge to get such a low grade, but I was aiming to do it ever since my adviser told me a D- was a passing grade. Had I known that earlier, my GPA would have been much lower.

Day 290: So Long 6595

Its been a good year '95 but now you'll have to shelter someone else from now on.

Day 289: Mystery Hole

In the fall, someone (who shall not be named) invited a drug dealer up into out house on a weekend night and decided to have a punching contest. It concluded with the drug dealer (or so it was said) punching a big fucking hole in our wall. Since the American flag covered it up, it sorta made us forget about it until every once in a while someone brought it back to the house's attention. Now that we are moving, we have to make the house look somewhat normal but we couldn't fix the wall because Home Depot ran out of those supplies. While everyone gave up, I thought that I might be able to fix it with hole putty and sure enough, it looks like it has been fixed. If you stick your finger in it though, it will go straight through. Looking forward to the deposit to see if we'll get charged or not.

Day 288: Rolling Rock

Rolling Rock now has cans. But not just regular cans. These cans are the most aesthetically pleasing cans I have seen in years. It looks ike these cans are a throwback to simpler times with no flashy wide mouth tops or spiral pouring tricks. No American flags or cold activation. They are just giving the consumer what they wanted all along.... a goddamn beer.

Day 287: Now What?

Today I graduated from college. Feels weird being "done" with school forever. Now I am a real person and have to live the rest of my life doing god knows what. This being a special day and all, I would write more but I have been staring at the computer screen for too long to organize all the thoughts in my head. Its been real UCSB and I hope I can donate a bunch of money to you in the future.

Day 286: Fare The Well

Jules moved out today. Didn't even get to say bye... (tear)

Day 285: Going Out With a Blunt

I finished my last final ever today and was prepared for the ride home. When I got out of Buchanon 1920, I lit a blunt on the eternal flame and skated through campus while smoking it. This is one of the most proud things I have ever done in my life and I will never forget the feeling of nostalgia on that beautiful day.

Day 284: Things About Isla Vista That I Will Miss
